These simple accessories extend the clamping potential of any tail vice, allowing boards of all lengths to be trapped down upon the workbench top for planing and various other activities. They also fit within the holes of a sliding board jack or the front leg of the bench where they can provide support to the end of long timbers when the other end is clamped within the face vice.
Two brass bench dogs are supplied with all workbenches. These have a spring riveted to one side to hold them in place within the holes and their face is cross hatched to provide extra grip. As these are round in shape they conveniently enable a holdfast to be used in each of the dog holes.
